Greeks Take on Literacy for Read Across America Week – Free Press of Jacksonville

In recognition of National Literacy Week, (March 2–6), the First Coast National Panhellenic Council (FCNPHC) launched the literacy initiative titled “D9 Reads Across North Florida,” their version of Read Across America Week. The nationwide initiative designed to inspire a love of reading, particularly among children. Under the theme “Diverse & Inclusive Books,” FCNPHC members focused on empathy, curiosity and confidence through the power of reading as they read to head Start children in centers in Clay and Duval Counties.

Through initiatives like D9 Reads Across North Florida, the First Coast National Panhellenic Council continues its commitment to community service and youth development, reinforcing the importance of literacy and the lifelong impact that reading can have on a child’s future.
